About the Advising Center The Educational Advising Center at the Icelandic Fulbright Commission is part of a network of more than 450 U.S. Department of State-affiliated advising centers worldwide. As such, the center is supported by the Educational Information and Resources branch of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (in the State Department) with reference materials, training, and more. The adviser also has the support of one of eight Regional Educational Advising Coordinators (REACs), who provides expertise and support.
As a State department affiliated advising center, we provide information on educational opportunities in the United States that is as up-to-date and accurate as possible. Most importantly, we offer impartial information about the full range of accredited institutions of higher learning in the United States and do not serve as agents or recruiters for any institutions or consortiums.
