May 14. 2007 Ms. Heiša Marķa Siguršardóttir recipient of The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for Outstanding Foreign Students in 2007 Ms. Heiša Marķa Siguršardóttir received The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for Outstanding Foreign Students which is a grant awarded towards Ph.D studies in the Sciences. It is the first time this grant is awarded, 170 countries competed for the grant - 119 applicants in all. Heiša Marķa was one of 27 that received this award this year and she will be studying towards her Ph.D in Cognitive Neuro Science at Brown University.
This award is unusual since all expenses, including tuition and living expenses, are paid in full. During the first three years expenses are paid by the Fulbright Program in the U.S. then taken over by Brown University until the end of her studies. This grant is only awarded to outstanding students and competition is extremely fierce. To receive this award is an incredible achievement and honor.
