The Icelandic Alumni association
The first Annual meeting of the association was held on the 18. of September 2008, but the association was founded on March 23rd of this year. The association welcomes Fulbright grant recipients that have received grants from the Icelandic Fulbright commission, both Icelandic and American. During the past 50 years, the Fulbright commission has supported a little less than 1300 grantees, more than 700 Icelandic and 500 American.

Goals of the association
The main goals of the Alumni association are:
• to bring together scholars and professionals from a wide range of academic fields and professional expertise, for their own personal benefits and the benefit of the commission.
• to promote global understanding.
• to encourage dialogue and interaction between international scholars, experts, and activists on topics important to the political, social, and cultural life of nations.
During the past year the commission has actively been seeking our Alumni to join the association, as of now there are about 180 members registered. Grantees that have not yet received a letter from the commission are kindly asked to contact Lára Jónsdóttir. Those who would like to join tha Alumni association can fill out the registration form and send it is an attachment to Belinda Theriault at belinda@fulbright.is
