NEW YORK JAZZ GUITARIST AND COMPOSER RORY STUART TO PERFORM WITH TOP ICELANDIC JAZZ MUSICIANS IN AN EVENT CO-SPONSORED BY THE U.S. EMBASSY, THE FULBRIGHT COMMISSION AND HARPA.

Described by Jazz Times as "perhaps THE most innovative straight-ahead jazz guitarist to emerge in years…," Rory Stuart will be performing in the Kaldalón hall of the Harpa Concert Hall on Monday, January 6th at 17.00. The event is open to the general public and admission is free.  Joined by top Icelandic jazz musicians drummer Scott McLemore, bassist Þorgrímur Jónsson, and saxophonist Sigurður Flosason, Rory will be performing a mix of original compositions and jazz standards. Thanks to a Fulbright Scholar Award, Rory has been in Europe, based in the Czech Republic, since late September 2013 and has also gotten to perform and teach in Poland, Austria, Greece, Sweden, and Portugal. He will be teaching while in Iceland at Reykjavik's FÍH School of Music.
